Pdf Summary
Basic Prestressed Concrete Design is a program aimed at providing participants with an understanding of the principles of prestressed concrete design. The program consists of six lectures covering various aspects of prestressed concrete design.

In the first lecture, the basics of prestressing and the materials used in prestressed concrete are discussed. Participants will learn about the benefits of using prestressed concrete, the difference between pretensioned and post-tensioned concrete, and the methods and practices of girder fabrication. They will also gain an understanding of the properties of the materials used in prestressed concrete, such as the strength of the concrete and the types and grades of prestressing steel.

The second lecture focuses on simple examples, loads, and code organization. Participants will learn about the different types of loads that act on prestressed concrete structures and how to calculate the stresses caused by these loads. They will also be introduced to the relevant code requirements for prestressed concrete design.

In the third lecture, code requirements and a design example are discussed. Participants will learn about the specific requirements outlined in the relevant code for prestressed concrete design and how to apply them to a design example.

The fourth, fifth, and sixth lectures continue with the design example, covering different aspects of the design process.

Throughout the program, participants will have the opportunity to ask questions related to specific products, publications, and services.

The program is registered with the AIA/CES and the NCEES. Participants who complete the program will receive a certificate of completion.
