Recommended Practice on Strand Bond
Recommended Practice on Strand Bond
Description
This free CEU webinar is available to PCI members and non-members.
This webinar delves into the changes in strand bond as outlined in the new PCI Recommended Practice to Assess and Control Strand/Concrete Bonding Properties of ASTM A416 Prestressing Strand. The historical path, key developments, new testing practices and examples demonstrating the new testing practices in the PCI Recommended Practice will be covered. The planned implementation and latest adoption by AASHTO LRFD Bridge Design Specifications will also be discussed.
Learning Objectives:
-Review the goals and objectives behind the development of the new Recommended Practice (RP)
-Understand what is included in the new RP.
-Compute the effective strand bond based on RP test results and determine the expected development length for the combination of concrete and strand used.
-Understand the planned implementation for the PCI RP and the current inclusion in AASHTO LRFD.
